Someone thinks he's funny

So, the other day I came home from work and Dereck told me to go look into the spare bedroom, but to not get mad. So, I looked and this is what I saw…looking very similar to a flat screen TV box.


Granted, our tv is several years old, but it works perfectly well and although I would love an upgrade for aesthetics sake, we did NOT talk about buying a new TV!
I about lost it.
I went into the whole “we’re a team” speech and how “we have to talk about these large purchases now that we’re married” and “we are saving for something else, so why would you just make this purchase”…on and on and on and he just let me go on while he sat there with this smug look on his face….

THEN he calmly replied, well, actually I just happened to be home and signed for it, it’s not ours, it belongs to the neighbors.

Nice.

I got to spend some time with a few of my (ex) classmates last week. We went to the Brooklyn museum - it's free every first Saturday of the month and then on to dinner at Chez Oscar in Brooklyn.

Can you believe my niece Devon is already in Kindergarten? I can't. My sister is getting old! haha. Cause I'm sure not. Kijuana took some pictures of her first day of school. Love the little lunch table. Precious.

P.S. The dress was custom made by my friend Alysha and I think it turned out perfectly.

New Internship

I will be starting my new internship a week from today!
I'm very excited about it. I had been looking for design jobs, along with freelance opportunities and then realized that I really need just get as much experience as I can, no matter where it is. Once I decided that, my eyes were much more open. Since, I really only had one internship while in school, my options were pretty limited because even for an assistant design position, the employers are asking for 2-3 years experience...right. So, I'll continue working at my current company, which has been pretty open to me doing this and then I'll intern just one day a week for now.
